Pasture-Raised Meat & Eggs

100% Grassfed Beef

What’s the difference between grass-fed beef and 100% grass-fed beef? Grassfed cattle may eat primarily grass and hay, BUT their diets also include grains — often in the last few months of life. 100% grassfed means that cattle have been fed grass for their entire life. Our beef is 100% grassfed. All grass, all the time.

Our beef is 100% grassfed. All grass, all the time.

From the time they're weaned from their mamas, Vintage Meadows cattle eat only fresh, chemical-free pasture in the warm months and organically grown hay in the winter.

We offer a variety of cuts, including the standard roasts and steaks; convenient cuts like ground and cubed beef; nutrient-dense marrow and offals; plus oxtail and broth bones.

Beef FAQs

  • We buy our cattle as feeder calves from a select few like-minded farms that meet our standards. Those farmers raise these calves just for us until we are able to buy them and finish them on our farm. 99% of the beef we sell is raised on Vintage Meadows farm by us. Rarely, we may buy finished beef from other farms, but when we do, it comes from trusted farms who entirely use our exact methods. This is a rare occurrence.

  • Some of our cattle are born on our farm, although this is relatively uncommon. The feeder cattle we buy from our trusted partners must be weaned from their mothers before they come to VM. The typical animal is weaned around 9-10 months old, and they come to our farm a month or two after this, at about 10-12 months old. If we do some quick math, we find that in total, each animal spends anywhere from 1-2 years at Vintage Meadows before going to butcher (50-67% of their life).

  • We ensure that other farmers are meeting our standards by cultivating relationships with them. The few farmers we work with are business partners, yes, but they are also more than that. They are complicit in our vision and values, our mission at the heart of Vintage Meadows. These relationships are built on a history of trust and quality assurance. We are regular visitors at the farms and are in regular communication with them. We have complete trust in our partner farms, and that is why we choose to work with them. Working with farms that do not 100% align with our standards, is not something that meets Vintage Meadows's values.

  • We aim for our cattle to be about 24-36 months old when they are slaughtered. Each animal must reach physiological maturity before they can be processed. This takes different amounts of time for different animals. We are vigilant about monitoring our animals and being aware of the physiological milestones they achieve, so we can know when their time is.

Pastured Pork

Our pigs are raised outdoors during the spring, summer, and fall months, where they forage for roots and grass, and enjoy non-GMO grain. During the cold winter months, pigs are sheltered in a barn and fed hay in addition to grain.

We produce a variety of sausage flavors and standard cuts including tenderloins, chops, roasts, and ribs. Our high-quality lard is perfect for cooking and baking. Our ancestors relied on lard for good reason and we believe it's time to get back to lard, along with other traditional foods. Pork organs and bones are also available.

Pastured Poultry & Eggs

When our young chickens, turkeys, and ducks are approximately 2-3 weeks old, they are moved outside and placed in portable, pasture-grazing pens. This allows them to feast on a wide variety of grasses, legumes, and bugs that naturally exist in the pasture. Pastured chickens are healthier and tastier than conventionally raised chicken.

Our wide selection of cuts includes whole birds, boneless breasts, boneless thighs, drumsticks, leg quarters, sectioned wings, backs, necks, and organs.

All meat birds and laying hens are truly pasture-raised. Flocks are moved to fresh, chemical-free grass daily, and fed free-choice, non-GMO feed, consisting of corn, roasted soybeans, small grains (oats or barley), organic mineral mix, and sea salt.

Eggs are unwashed with the bloom intact, which is a natural protein coating on the egg that prevents bacteria from contaminating the egg - you can read more about it at this link!

  • Soy-free laying hens consume the following organic feed mix: Flaxmeal, non-GMO corn, peas, roasted barley, Bio Ag Mineral Premix - Poultry Layers, kelp, Alpha meal pellets, red pepper, and marigold powder.

  • Because our eggs are unwashed, with the bloom intact, they are very long-lasting! Most conventional sources say unwashed eggs last around a month, but we've personally had eggs last up to two, or longer! You can safely leave unwashed eggs on the counter without fear of them going bad within 4-6 weeks. Refrigeration, on the other hand, does not harm the eggs in any way, and may extend their shelf life.

100% Grass-fed Lamb

Our lamb is raised on pasture and is 100% grass-fed. Lambs are born on the farm and graze with their mamas until they reach approximately 100 lbs.

We offer a wide variety of lamb cuts, and you’ll find them to be tender, with a mild taste.
