Spring Updates: Pay It Forward and Freezer Restocks
Four months ago, summer seemed like it would never get here.
Three months ago, summer was a hazy dream, far in the future.
Two months ago, the sun reappeared, and we began to wonder if summer was actually a possibility.
One month ago, the “itch” came back - the itch to be outside, make summer travel plans, and deep clean every nook and cranny.
Is summer officially here? Not quite. But I am certainly finding myself in a summer state of mind. A joyful part of the last month has been our most recent Pay It Forward campaign, during which we blessed one of our customers who was diagnosed with breast cancer. In her own words,
“Hi! My name is Nicole Morris wife, mom of 4 and grammy of 2. I just went back to work after 11 years at home with my kids. In September 2023 I was diagnosed with breast cancer that also spread to the axillary lymph nodes. I just completed 6 rounds of chemotherapy. I am about to undergo a double mastectomy and will then need to complete 25 rounds of radiation. Surgery recovery is about 4-6 weeks and I will be out without pay because I haven’t even been employed a full year yet. I am praying to recover well and return to life as normal as possible. I have a long road ahead still but I’m keeping my head held high! A positive mindset goes a long way :)”
Your generosity over the month of April meant that a total of $2,780 was gifted to Nicole and her family. THANK YOU! Nicole shared the following update with us,
Hi everyone, just here for a quick update. I want to thank you all so much for your generosity and kind words. I am doing well! My surgery was the best outcome possible, cancer free. I’m healing well and back to work. I have been able to return to the majority of my regular activities and I’m ready for summer. I am continuing care with immunotherapy infusions every 3 weeks for the next several months. I tolerate those very well and experience little to no side effects, maybe just more fatigue for a few days. I’m beyond grateful for all the prayers and positive thoughts!
Freezer Restocks
Many of you have noticed the numerous products that are currently “Out of Stock.” We understand the inconvenience of this status, but want you to know that more product is on the way. We are a real small farm, and we are not sourcing from a giant faceless corporation. Our product is grown directly for our customers. Regarding our poultry production, the number of birds we raise is based on previous years’ sales. Some years we overestimate what is needed. Other years, we don’t have enough to last until the next growing season when poultry products can be replenished. Most products will be back in stock within a few weeks, and we will do our best to keep you updated on when the restocks happen. That way, you can be sure to snag what you need… stat.
The upcoming months are going to be FULL of exciting new things, both on the farm and around town. We are ecstatic to share our updates with you and bring you into the joy of our growth! We have hope in the shining future of Vintage Meadows, and we invite you to come with us. Stepping out in faith into an unknown future can be intimidating. We are thankful for our dedicated customer base who make what we do possible. We look forward to serving you!
